Step 2: shape the prompt like a real decision

Most AI PoCs fail quietly at this step.

People ask the model to “analyze data” or “give insights” and then feel underwhelmed by vague answers. That’s not an AI problem. That’s a prompt problem.

A strong prompt is basically a decision written in plain language. It includes context, constraints, and what “useful” actually looks like.

Instead of asking something generic, you describe the situation as if you were briefing a colleague. What data is this? What rules apply? What kind of output do you expect? Who is going to use it?

At the same time, the upside is very tangible. Less manual work. Faster responses. More consistent decisions. That’s the reward side, and it’s often visible within days.
