Building DirektDoktorum

A Secure Turkish Telehealth Platform Built Together With Real Healthcare Expertise

DirektDoktorum is an online healthcare platform for Turkish speaking users. The idea behind it sounds simple at first glance. Give people an easy and trustworthy way to access medical support digitally, in their own language, without confusion or technical barriers. But building something like that is never just a “website project.” It touches privacy, culture, communication, user trust, and medical responsibility all at once.

That is exactly why we liked it.

Turning an idea into something real

The goal for DirektDoktorum was clear from the beginning. The platform needed to feel calm, reliable, and professional. When someone arrives, they should immediately understand what they can do, feel comfortable using it, and not worry about what happens to their data. The platform allows users to register, share their health questions, and connect with a real doctor in a structured and safe way, fully in Turkish.

We purposely avoided unnecessary complexity. When people are already dealing with health concerns, the platform should reduce stress, not add more.

Built together with someone who actually treats patients

This is one of the reasons DirektDoktorum works so well. It was not built in isolation by only developers and designers. A real doctor worked with us during the process. That changed everything in the best possible way.

Instead of guessing how things “should probably” work in a healthcare context, we asked the person who actually does this work daily. What do patients need? What is confusing? What information is essential? Where do people get lost in digital healthcare systems?

This fits perfectly with how we like to work. Software is not about forcing people to adapt to systems. It is about respecting the knowledge people already have and turning that into something digital. Just like the Emplex idea of employee experience. The people doing the work know the reality. If you listen to them, you build faster and you build better. That is exactly what happened here. Because a doctor sat with us, the platform reached a useful, working shape much quicker than a “typical IT project.”

A fully Turkish experience, even without being Turkish ourselves

Everything in DirektDoktorum needed to feel naturally Turkish. Not technically translated. Not stiff. Not robotic. Real Turkish communication. That created an interesting challenge, because the development team is not Turkish speaking.

We solved that with a mix of Turkish speaking partners, contextual review, and smart AI assistance. AI helped to generate and refine content quickly, but human understanding always had the final say. Language is more than words. It is tone, comfort, clarity, and cultural feeling. The result is a platform that does not sound like a translation project, but like a service truly meant for Turkish people.
